It would appear that Mya is not going to be playing Velma Kelly in the Broadway production of 'Chicago'. Though Mya's team has not confirmed it, Broadway.com and other news outlets list two new people to play Velma Kelly this Spring-Summer:
Nicole Bridgewater-May 12- May 18
Nancy Lemenager-May 19-July 13
Mya, unfortunately, had to opt out due to a broken foot.

According to Broadwayworld.com:
The producers of the musical CHICAGO announced that the anticipated Broadway debut of Grammy Award winner Mưa has been postponed. The multi-platinum recording artist, who was set to begin a nine-week engagement as Velma Kelly on Monday, May 12, 2008, has been sidelined with a broken foot.

Hey! How's it going everybody? Miss you guys. I'm back on the east after doing CBS "Secret Talents of the Stars" show which was an incredible experience. It's been a while since I've been around my tap family and DC was rollin deep on stage with me! Send your comments and let me know how you thought I did and how it could've been better. You guys always keep it real with me & I appreciate that. Tomorrow, April 14th will be day 5 of CHICAGO rehearsals. I'm taking it easy for about a week as I have a minor foot injury from CBS rehearsals. I'm keeping a video diary at Broadway.com to give you a glimpse of the rehearsal process for the musical. Secret Talents of The Stars CANCELLED!
Not due to ratings (it came in at #3) but heat from cbs executives on the producers for letting the biggest star of the competition go after the first episode, also the huge backlash by fans, critics, etc... to Mya's departure were all c contributes to the shows cancellation.
Those Who said Mya wasn't relevant lmao 4.6 Million viewers coudln't save the show when Mya left. (Mya's New cd should be called The Warning)

MYA. CBS. TAP THAT TONIGHT!!!! 10pm est/ 9pm central LIVE.
SECRET TALENTS OF THE STARS viewers will be allowed to vote online at CBS.COM from 10:00 – 11:00 PM EASTERN/9:00 – 10:00 PM MOUNTAIN during commercial breaks.
